The difference between our Bespoke Orthotics and our Custom Insoles

At Foot Factor, we have been helping people of all ages who visit us with all manner of issues, for nearly 25 years now. We offer two different kinds of specialist ‘shoe inserts’. The first is our Bespoke Orthotics – our original service, and more recently we have added the personalised Custom Insoles option to make Foot Factor’s expertise available to as wide a range of people as possible.
Bespoke Orthotics
As the name suggests, our Bespoke Orthotics are entirely made from scratch and very much our trademark. They are crafted from raw materials using templates taken from your feet, and information taken from our detailed assessment process. The materials used have different core characteristics to allow us to create a base or footbed that is specifically for your foot shape and your needs.
Built with purpose
Foot Factor Bespoke Orthotics are renowned for providing a premium-quality solution and are suitable for a wide selection of end uses such as:
- Everyday ‘street’ orthotics – for walking and general movement
- Hiking orthotics for hill walking, or hiking and trekking in more challenging terrain
- Running orthotics to protect you joints and address runners needs

Custom Insoles
Meanwhile our more recently introduced product, Custom Insoles, are based on the same analysis process, but with a personalised solution. We utilise a pre-built professional grade insole as the basis but then heat and custom mould these to the shape of your individual feet:

Foot Factor Custom Insoles are suitable for those with less complex needs. You still benefit from the same level of knowledge and experience from our team and leave Foot Factor, ready to walk, run or play your sport – but at a more moderate cost. They are a high quality and effective option, and open up opportunities to those looking for improved comfort and support, and in the case of sporting activities, enhanced performance. They’re also appealing to those who would like multiple pairs for different shoes!

Since introducing our newer Custom Insoles alongside our Bespoke Orthotics we have welcomed a broader range of clients to the clinic. We feel that the two levels of service complement each other well and mean that we can extend Foot Factor’s solutions to a more diverse audience.
