What can you expect during your foot assessment?

Every podiatry appointment at Foot Factor begins with listening — and ends with a plan. Using cutting-edge diagnostic tools and deep clinical expertise, we assess how your feet move, why issues are happening, and how best to treat them.

  • Step 01

Discussion of your concerns, activity levels, and health history

    We begin by understanding:

    • Your symptoms or pain points
    • Activity level and lifestyle
    • Sports involvement (if any)
    • Relevant medical and injury history

This informs how we tailor your assessment and what to look for in your movement and posture.

  • Step 02

    Assessment & Analysis

We combine several methods to get a complete picture of how your feet are functioning:

    • Biomechanical Exam – Identifying any structural or functional imbalances
    • Posture Assessment – Spotting compensations or misalignments that may affect foot and lower limb health
    • Gait Analysis – Conducted with pressure plate and high-speed video to observe how you walk or run
    • Static & Dynamic Tests – Analysing foot pressure and load while standing and in motion
    • Mobility Evaluation – Testing flexibility, control, and joint range to understand support needs

We use advanced digital scanning and imaging to create a 3D map of your foot, helping us detect subtle gait imbalances and areas of strain often missed by the naked eye.

  • Step 03

    Diagnosis & Planning

If further investigation is needed, we can refer for imaging (MRI, X-ray, ultrasound) through our trusted network.

Once we’ve collected the data, we’ll explain our findings clearly and walk you through your options. Your personalised treatment plan may include:

    • Same-day custom orthotics (thermo-moulded and fit on-site)
    • A rehabilitation and strengthening programme
    • Shockwave therapy for chronic tendon issues
    • Injection therapy (e.g. corticosteroid, guided if necessary)
    • Referral to a specialist consultant or physiotherapist as needed
